Information Extraction

*This page is dedicated to those who are interested in how I managed to extract the figures for this site.

When you first run a version of GO2 from your internet browser, several .swf files are being stored in your browser cache. These .swf files contains every resources and information related to the game.

E.g. You are using Google Chrome to access GO2, and the .swf files are stored in
C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache\
You may use a third-party software (such as Chrome Cache Viewer) to view the cached files and even copy them to other locations.
From the list of cached files, search for those with URL http://static.go2.browsergame.com/en/asset/....

These are the files that GO2 client runs on and there is quite a number of them. The 4 digit number in the front of some of the .swf files name indicates the version of the client. The 2 files that I access frequently are GameRes and Picres. GameRes contains all the figures and descriptions while Picres contains every images (sometimes you may find unimplemented stuffs like new ships, commanders, items etc)

To view its content, use SWF extractor/decompiler softwares (such as Sothink SWF Decompiler which is not free unfortunately)
